The best things that parents can do is set a good the example when it comes to dental habits. Children will tend to follow the example of parents and that can establish healthy habits for life.

To get started, we put together 5 Things to keep in mind as your child grows and how to make sure they keep a healthy mouth and smile.

1. Dental hygiene should be taught to children at a young age. This includes brushing teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, flossing once a day, and limiting sugary foods and drinks.

2. Regular dental check-ups are important for children to maintain good oral health. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends that children see a dentist by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth coming in.

Dental Sealants

3. Dental sealants can protect children’s teeth from decay. Sealants are a plastic coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth to prevent plaque and food from getting stuck in the grooves.
